Volleyball Recap: Bloomington North Comes Up Short

Bloomington North and Martinsville squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Bloomington North had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Artesians by a score of 3-2. The Cougars were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Artesians earlier this season, when they won 3-2.

Liv Bargen paced Bloomington North's offense, picking up 18 kills. Bargen got some help from Jenna Newby and her 48 assists. Avery Patrick controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Bloomington North has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-21 record this season. As for Martinsville, their win bumped their record up to 12-18.

Bloomington North does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Martinsville, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-1 loss against Bloomington South on the 18th.
