Baseball Recap: Sutherland Comes Up Short

For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last six times Sutherland and Batavia have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Wednesday. The Knights fell 6-3 to the Blue Devils. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Blue Devils this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 9-4 on Monday.

Sutherland's defeat dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Batavia, the victory (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 9-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sutherland will square off against Greece Athena at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Trojans will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Knights surely won't give up without a fight. As for Batavia, they will take on Canandaigua Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
