Softball Game Preview: Princeton Tigers vs. Mount View Golden Knights

The Princeton Tigers will venture away from home to take on the Mount View Golden Knights at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Princeton is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.

Princeton is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They took a 10-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of Bluefield on Friday.

Meanwhile, Mount View sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-5 win over Van on Thursday.

Phoebe Dudgeon spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and three unearned) runs on three hits and racked up 17 Ks. Those 17 strikeouts gave her a new career-high.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Malayah Barnes, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Princeton's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Mount View, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Princeton might still be hurting after the 10-2 defeat they got from Mount View when the teams last played back in April of 2018. Can Princeton avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
