Basketball Recap: Rose Hill Takes a Loss

Rose Hill was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were a single point away from ending the streak, but they lost a 56-55 heartbreaker at the hands of the Mulvane Wildcats. The Rockets were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wildcats apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2022.

Despite the loss, Rose Hill still got an impressive performance from Nick Bentley, who went 6-for-8 en route to 14 points and five boards. Bentley continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Easton Meyer, who posted six points and four steals.

Mulvane got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Manny Myers out in front who went 6-for-12 on his way to 14 points and five assists. Myers also posted a block, marking his first of the season. Canon Lazier was another key player, putting up 12 points along with eight rebounds and three steals.

Rose Hill's loss dropped their record down to 3-10. As for Mulvane, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-8.

Rose Hill didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 61-54 defeat against Augusta on the 4th. As for Mulvane, they have also already played their next match, a 66-48 loss against Wellington on the 4th.
