Softball Recap: Ossining Comes Up Short

If Ossining was riding high fresh off their 9-1 takedown of Port Chester on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Pride fell just short of the White Plains Tigers by a score of 4-3 on Tuesday. The contest marked the Pride's lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Ossining saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Leaila Alexander, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run. Alexander is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season. Kristin Howie also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Ossining's defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 2-3. As for White Plains, the victory (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 14-3.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Tigers beat Ossining by a score of 8-2 later that day.
