After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Pungo Christian Academy, Northeast Academy was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They came out on top against The Oakwood School by a score of 3-1. The win was a breath of fresh air for Northeast Academy as it put an end to their six-match losing streak.

Northeast Academy had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 19-25, 25-21, 25-22, 26-24.

Addison Newsome paced Northeast Academy's offense, picking up two kills. Newsome got some help from Chloe Long and her three assists. Finally, Sabrina Piland kept Northeast Academy's defense grounded, leading the team with four blocks.

Northeast Academy's victory bumped their record up to 6-14. As for The Oakwood School, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-13.

Northeast Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against Kerr-Vance Academy on the 2nd. As for The Oakwood School, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Halifax Academy on the 1st.
