Basketball Recap: Gavyn Leduc's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Washington County over Blue Valley

Washington County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 15th straight defeat. They lost 81-58 to the Blue Valley Rams. The match was a 34-34 toss-up at halftime, but the Tigers couldn't quite close it out.

Washington County's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Gavyn Leduc, who posted 16 points and five assists. The dominant performance gave Leduc a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Eli Chandler, who went 5 for 9 en route to 14 points and six rebounds.

Washington County's defeat dropped their record down to 2-15. As for Blue Valley, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5-1 record this season.

While Washington County had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
