Softball Game Preview: Shelby Valley Wildcats vs. Belfry Pirates

Shelby Valley hasn't had much luck against Belfry recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Wildcats will head out to take on the Pirates at 6:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

On Tuesday, Shelby Valley didn't have quite enough to beat Harlan and fell 7-6. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Wednesday just wasn't the day for Belfry's offense. They lost 14-0 to Perry County Central on Wednesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Pirates have suffered since March 28th.

Shelby Valley's loss dropped their record down to 7-14. As for Belfry, they moved to 12-8 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Shelby Valley suffered a grim 17-7 defeat to Belfry when the teams last played back in March. Can the Wildcats avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
