Baseball Recap: Dimmitt Bobcats vs. Friona Chieftans
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Ropes, Dimmitt was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Friona Chieftans with a sharp 21-2 win. The result was nothing new for the Bobcats, who have now won four contests by eight runs or more so far this season.
Rudy Fuentes was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over 4.2 innings pitched. Fuentes was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. He has become a key player for Dimmitt: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 2-3 otherwise.
In other batting news, Kaden Carpio was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.
