Jacob Perrone posted a new career-high in strikeouts on Saturday. He struck out 13 batters over seven innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off eight hits. Considering he played a big game the last time he faced off against Pershing County on Tuesday, the result shouldn't come as too huge a shock. Perrone has become a key player for Battle Mountain: the team is undefeated when he posts at least ten strikeouts, but 6-10 otherwise.

Perrone's strong effort led Battle Mountain over Pershing County and he'll get a chance to do so again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
