Baseball Game Preview: Mountain Pointe Pride vs. Notre Dame Prep Saints

The Mountain Pointe Pride are taking a road trip to square off against the Notre Dame Prep Saints at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Last Thursday, Mountain Pointe came up short against Campo Verde and fell 4-1. The Pride have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Notre Dame Prep's offense. They fell just short of Campo Verde by a score of 1-0 on Friday. The Saints have struggled against the Coyotes recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Trystan Swayda was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed six innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.

Notre Dame Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 5-12. As for Mountain Pointe, their loss dropped their record down to 6-12.

Mountain Pointe might still be hurting after the 8-0 defeat they got from Notre Dame Prep in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Can the Pride avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
