Basketball Game Preview: Aliquippa Quips vs. Central Catholic Vikings

Having just played yesterday, the Aliquippa Quips will jump right back in to play the Central Catholic Vikings at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Aliquippa knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past nine matchups -- so hopefully Central Catholic likes a good challenge.

On Friday, Aliquippa didn't have too much trouble with Ellwood City as they won 70-53. The Quips pushed the score to 62-38 by the end of the third, a deficit the Wolverine cut but never quite recovered from.

Meanwhile, Central Catholic didn't have quite enough to beat Imani Christian Academy on Thursday and fell 76-74.

Central Catholic's defeat dropped their record down to 12-6. As for Aliquippa, their win was their 20th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 15-3.

Aliquippa beat Central Catholic 52-45 in their previous matchup back in January of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Aliquippa since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
