Lakeland has gone 7-2 against Mid Valley recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Chiefs will be playing at home against the Spartans at 7:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Mid Valley will be up against a hot Lakeland team: the squad just extended their winning streak to five. The Chiefs put the hurt on West Scranton with a sharp 35-14 win on Friday.

Lakeland had a senior duo take command as David Naniewicz rushed for 97 yards and one score on only 13 carries and Gavin Roberts rushed for 107 yards on only nine carries. Roberts got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run that went for an incredible 54 yards. Rocco Spataro made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.

Lakeland was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 249 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 171 rushing yards in three consecutive matchups.

Lakeland didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Naniewicz, Jackson Pochas, and Spataro picked up one apiece. Spataro got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Meanwhile, Mid Valley never let their opponents score on Friday. They really took it to Western Wayne for the full four quarters, racking up a 38-0 victory. The high-scoring effort was just what the Spartans needed considering they were shut out in their previous game.

Mid Valley found their leader in freshman Paxton Grebb, who rushed for 179 yards and one touchdown while picking up 10.5 yards per carry. With that strong performance, Grebb is now averaging an impressive 129.5 rushing yards per game.

Mid Valley now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Lakeland, their win bumped their record up to 8-1.
