Volleyball Recap: Gibsonburg Takes a Loss

Gibsonburg and Fairview squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Gibsonburg had to settle for second. They came up short against the Apaches, falling 3-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Golden Bears have suffered since September 23rd.

Leah Hall paced Gibsonburg's offense, picking up nine kills. Hall were helped by Brooklyn Smith and Katie Hall, who contributed 12 assists each. Emily Henderson controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Fairview was led to victory by Liberty Vogelsong and Brianna Moninger. Vogelsong had 11 digs and five assists, while Moninger had six digs and two aces. Vogelsong is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last 17 games she's played.

Gibsonburg's loss dropped their record down to 16-9. As for Fairview, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 15 of their last 16 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-3 record this season.

Gibsonburg does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Fairview, after both having extra time off, they and New Bremen will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
