Basketball Game Preview: Greeley West Spartans vs. Brighton Bulldogs

The Greeley West Spartans will square off against the Brighton Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Greeley West has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the match with ten straight losses, while Brighton will come in with four straight wins.

Greeley West is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Wheat Ridge on Saturday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Greeley West took a blow against Wheat Ridge, falling 76-22. The Spartans were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 44-11.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Brighton). They breezed by D'Evelyn to the tune of 80-52 on Monday. The Bulldogs pushed the score to 59-39 by the end of the third, a deficit the Jaguars had little chance of recovering from.

Brighton has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a massive bump to their 9-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.0 points per game. As for Greeley West, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-14.

Greeley West didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Brighton in their previous matchup back in February of 2018, but they still walked away with a 57-52 victory.
