The Cedarville Indians will take on the Greenon Knights at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Cedarville is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.8 runs per game this season.
Cedarville's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. Everything went their way against Catholic Central as they made off with an 18-0 win. The victory continues a trend for the Indians in their matchups with the Irish: they've now won six in a row.

Xavier Pauling made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). Pauling was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one double. He is becoming a predictor of Cedarville's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 5-6 when he doesn't).
In other batting news, Zach Creeden was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with three runs, two RBI, and one double. Jacob Lide was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
Cedarville was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .455. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Catholic Central only posted a batting average of .100.
Meanwhile, Greenon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They took an 11-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of Franklin Monroe.
Carson Fields was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Eli Paulus, who earned one run and three stolen bases.
Greenon's loss dropped their record down to 4-17. As for Cedarville, their win bumped their record up to 10-6.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Cedarville has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.9 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Greenon struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Cedarville came out on top in a nail-biter against Greenon when the teams last played back in May of 2024, sneaking past 1-0. Will the Indians repeat their success, or do the Knights have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
