Football Recap: Clark Snaps Three-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Clark ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They managed a 31-25 victory over the Mojave Rattlers. Clark's win was all the more impressive since the Rattlers were averaging only 11.29 points allowed on the season.

Taedyn Parks had an outrageously good game as she threw for 174 yards and four touchdowns, and also punched in one touchdown on the ground. What's more, she also racked up 121.1 passer rating, the most she's had since January 2nd. Another player making a difference was Kaynina Afemata, who picked up 39 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

Despite the defeat, Mojave saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Jeremya Umbles rushed for 153 yards and one touchdown on only 14 carries. Umbles' longest rush was for an impressive 52 yards, which helps to explain her lofty yards per carry total.

Clark's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-15. As for Mojave, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-4.

Clark didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 26-6 win against Amplus Academy on the 30th. As for Mojave, they will be playing at home against Coronado at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average, (Mojave: 11.3, Coronado: 12.2) so any points scored will be well earned.
