Volleyball Recap: Encina Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Encina can now relate to. They came up short against the Vacaville Christian Falcons on Friday, falling 3-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Bulldogs have suffered since April 7th.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-12, 25-21.

Nate Wroten paced Encina's offense, picking up 12 kills. Wroten got some help from Yoel Calleja and his 25 assists. Wroten was also solid from the service line: he led the team with three aces.

Encina moved to 25-11 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Vacaville Christian, their win was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 25-5.

Encina does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Vacaville Christian, they will face off against Livingston at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Wolves will roll in looking for their ninth straight victory, something the Falcons surely won't give up without a fight.
