Basketball Recap: Monday's Win Is Billingsley's 12th in Last 13 Outings

Billingsley entered their tilt with Holtville on Monday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They walked away with a 33-25 win over the Holtville Bulldogs. This was a revenge game for the Bears: when they faced off against the Bulldogs back in November of 2024, they had to take a 48-23 defeat.

Billingsley was led to victory by Alana Jones and Derrica Motley. Jones dropped a double-double on ten points and 18 rebounds, while Motley dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten boards. Jones has been hot for a while, having posted eight or more rebounds the last 43 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Camia Sheppard, who posted no points in addition to seven boards and six steals.

Billingsley is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 15-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 25.5 points per game. As for Holtville, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 18-4.

Billingsley and Jefferson Christian Academy will face off at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday without much rest having both just played. Holtville has already played their next game (against Reeltown), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
