Basketball Recap: Leo Comes Up Short

Leo was the 50-43 winner over Fort Wayne Wayne when they last played one another back in December of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Lions came up short against the Generals on Wednesday, falling 66-40. The Lions were down 44-24 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

LaShawn Green had an outrageously good game for Fort Wayne Wayne as he went 8-for-13 en route to 18 points in addition to seven boards and five assists. Those seven rebounds gave Green a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Everen Akison, who posted seven points along with five boards and three steals.

Leo's loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Looking ahead, Leo will venture away from home to face off against Heritage at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Fort Wayne Wayne, they will welcome New Haven at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
