Volleyball Recap: Mater Brickell Academy Takes a Loss

After flying high against International Studies on Friday, Mater Brickell Academy came back down to earth. The Bulls lost 3-0 to the Immaculata-La Salle Royal Lions on Monday. The Bulls have struggled against the Royal Lions recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

While Mater Brickell Academy was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the first set. The final score came out to 25-23, 25-12, 25-14.

Immaculata-La Salle can attribute much of their success to Gabrielle VonTeuber, who had 15 digs. That's the most digs VonTeuber has posted over her last six contests.

Mater Brickell Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 14-8. As for Immaculata-La Salle, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-10.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matches. Mater Brickell Academy will square off against Florida Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Immaculata-La Salle, they will take on Coral Gables at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
