Clayton and Cleveland are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2021, but not for long. The Clayton Comets will square off against the Cleveland Rams at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Clayton will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

Clayton can't be too worried about heading out to take on Cleveland: they just beat Willow Spring at home, who had been dominant on their own court up to that point. Clayton snuck past Willow Spring with a 49-44 win on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Cleveland posted their closest victory since January 17th on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against South Garner, sneaking past 75-73. Given the Rams' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 94th, while the Titans are ranked 248th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Cleveland's win bumped their record up to 17-6. As for Clayton, their victory bumped their record up to 15-8.

Clayton was able to grind out a solid win over Cleveland in their previous matchup last Wednesday, winning 62-53. The rematch might be a little tougher for Clayton since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
