Basketball Recap: Pinecrest Academy Sloan Canyon Comes Up Short

Pinecrest Academy Sloan Canyon lost against Boulder City back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Pinecrest Academy Sloan Canyon Pirate had to suffer through a 49-22 loss at the hands of the Boulder City Eagles. The Pirate's defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it four in a row.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Boulder City to victory, but perhaps none more so than Makenzie Martorano, who posted 11 points along with eight boards and three steals. Martorano has been hot for a while, having posted eight or more rebounds the last 12 times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyra Stevens, who earned 12 points and eight boards.

Pinecrest Academy Sloan Canyon's loss dropped their record down to 4-13. As for Boulder City, they pushed their record up to 19-6 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.

Pinecrest Academy Sloan Canyon will venture away from home to take on The Meadows School at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Boulder City, it'll be a Battle of the Birds when the Boulder City Eagles face off against the Coral Academy of Science Las Vegas Falcons at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
