Baseball Recap: Elba Takes a Loss

Elba was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 14-13 heartbreaker at the hands of McKenzie.

Powell Bane was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring four runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-5. The team also got some help courtesy of Easton McKelvy, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.

Elba's loss dropped their record down to 5-11. As for McKenzie, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-11.

While Elba had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
