Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Godwin Heights). Their pitchers stepped up to hand the NorthPointe Christian Mustangs an 11-0 shutout on Tuesday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Wolverines as it put an end to their five-game losing streak.

The team relied heavily on Taisjon Allen, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Johnny Fontanez was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs.

Godwin Heights always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .645. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Godwin Heights' win bumped their record up to 3-12. As for NorthPointe Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 7-6.

Godwin Heights will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Mustangs: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
