Basketball Recap: Trent Ison and Austin Saavedra Secure Win for Carlson

There's no place like home for Carlson, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They secured a 53-47 W over the Lincoln Park Railsplitters on Thursday. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Marauders' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 341st, while the Railsplitters are ranked 62nd).

Carlson was led to victory by Austin Saavedra and Trent Ison. Saavedra almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine boards, while Ison posted 13 points and five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Matt MacBride, who scored 13 points.

Carlson moved to 7-8 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Lincoln Park, the loss snapped their winning streak at nine games and leaves them with a 13-3 record.

Carlson will venture away from home to challenge Allen Park at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Carlson is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54 points per game this season. Lincoln Park has already played their next contest (against Woodhaven), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
