Basketball Recap: Wadena-Deer Creek Comes Up Short

It was fun while it lasted, but Wadena-Deer Creek's undefeated season came to an end after three games on Friday. They fell 77-64 to the Frazee Hornets. The Wolverines were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Hornets apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.

Having lost for the first time this season, Wadena-Deer Creek fell to 3-1. As for Frazee, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wadena-Deer Creek will take on Warroad at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Warroad knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven contests -- so hopefully Wadena-Deer Creek likes a good challenge. As for Frazee, they will welcome Roseau at 7:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025. Frazee is coming into the game hot, having won their last three games.
