Soccer Game Preview: McConnellsburg vs. Berlin Brothersvalley

The McConnellsburg Spartans will head out on the road to square off against the Berlin Brothersvalley Mountaineers at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. McConnellsburg knows how to get goals on the board -- the team has finished with four goals or more in their past three matchups -- so hopefully Berlin Brothersvalley likes a good challenge.

McConnellsburg is headed in fresh off scoring the most goals they have all season. They put the hurt on Forbes Road with a sharp 18-0 win on Monday. Reese Alexander was a massive factor in the win as he booted in five goals all by himself.

Meanwhile, Berlin Brothersvalley and North Star finished up on equal footing with a 1-1 draw on Monday.

McConnellsburg's victory bumped their record up to 13-0. With that draw, Berlin Brothersvalley's record moves to 7-3-3.

McConnellsburg was able to grind out a solid win over Berlin Brothersvalley in their previous matchup back in September of 2024, winning 2-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Spartans since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
