Football Recap: TEACH Tech Charter Rams vs. Sherman Oaks CES Knights
TEACH Tech Charter had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They fell 32-20 to the Sherman Oaks CES Knights on Friday. The Rams were right on the edge of victory: they outscored the Knights in the fourth quarter 8-0.
Trayvion Kendrick and Kyler Drake certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Kendrick rushed for 164 yards and two touchdowns, while Drake gained 115 total yards and a touchdown. Kendrick also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, picking up two sacks and making five total tackles.
Most of the squad's points came courtesy of special teams, who contributed 12 in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Christopher Montijo, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.
TEACH Tech Charter didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Makai Swinger and Noah Williams. TEACH Tech Charter got some further help from Dayvion Kendrick: he picked up two sacks and made six total tackles.
The victory keeps Sherman Oaks CES at an undefeated 5-0.
Looking ahead, TEACH Tech Charter will welcome East Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Sherman Oaks CES, they will challenge Valley Oaks CES at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Knights will need to watch out since the Vanguards have now posted at least 31 points in their last three games.
