Basketball Recap: Breaux Bridge Falls Short of Bastrop in the Playoffs

Breaux Bridge and Bastrop squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Breaux Bridge had to settle for second. They had to suffer through an 87-39 loss at the hands of the Bastrop Rams. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Tigers have suffered since January 16th.

Bastrop had a senior duo take command as Lebron Deal shot 70% from beyond the arc on his way to 33 points along with eight assists and eight steals and Antron Mason II went 9-for-15 en route to 26 points in addition to seven assists and seven steals. Mason II is crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Devin Tyson was another key player, dropping a double-double with 13 points and ten boards.

Breaux Bridge has traveled a rocky road recently having lost nine of their last 12 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 13-22 record this season. Bastrop has been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 13 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-6 record this season.

Breaux Bridge does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Bastrop, they will be playing at home against Northwest at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Bastrop knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 15 contests -- so hopefully Northwest likes a good challenge.
