Baseball Game Preview: Tehachapi Warriors vs. Eastside Lions

The Tehachapi Warriors will take on the Eastside Lions at 3:15 p.m. on Monday. Eastside took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Tehachapi, who comes in off a win.

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Tehachapi and Bakersfield, and Tehachapi kept the tradition alive. Tehachapi walked away with an 8-4 victory over Bakersfield on Friday.

Bryce Segale and Wade Brooks did most of the damage at the plate: Segale scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4, while Brooks went 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Cyler Hoofard, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, Eastside came up short against Hesperia on Thursday and fell 7-4. That's two games in a row now that the Lions have lost by exactly three runs.

Eastside saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jordan Haro, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Tehachapi's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Eastside, they dropped their record down to 1-5 with the loss, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.

Tehachapi skirted past Eastside 5-3 when the teams last played back in March of 2023. Will Tehachapi repeat their success, or does Eastside have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
