The Madeira MUSTANGS/AMAZONS will challenge the Indian Hill Braves at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Indian Hill will be up against a hot Madeira squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. The MUSTANGS/AMAZONS came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 14-13 W against Mariemont. With that win, the MUSTANGS/AMAZONS brought their scoring average up to 6.3 runs per game.
Eli Beck was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 3-for-5. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kane Temar, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
Madeira always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .513. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Indian Hill never let their opponents score on Wednesday. They blew past Reading 10-0. The victory continues a trend for the Braves in their matchups with the Blue Devils: they've now won seven in a row.
Devlan Daniel made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out eight over seven innings pitched. Daniel was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 1-for-4.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ben Sichel, who scored a run while going 1-for-2. He also put up two RBI, which were his first of the season. Brady Drost was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-4.
Madeira pushed their record up to 4-2 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.7 runs over those games. As for Indian Hill, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Madeira has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Indian Hill struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.8 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Madeira might still be hurting after the 14-3 loss they got from Indian Hill in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the MUSTANGS/AMAZONS avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
