Football Game Preview: S & S Consolidated Rams vs. Gunter Tigers + Official Tickets

S & S Consolidated is 0-7 against Gunter since September of 2016 but things could change on Friday. The Rams will take on the Tigers at 7:30 p.m. S & S Consolidated has given up an average of 39.8 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

S & S Consolidated is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Bells on Thursday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Rams were beaten by the Panthers 50-14. The Rams were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 30-7.

Despite their defeat, S & S Consolidated saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Hunter Courville, who threw for 152 yards and two TDs, and also rushed for 41 yards, was perhaps the best of all. A healthy portion of Courville's aerial production (84 yards to be exact) went to Joe Orr, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.

Meanwhile, Gunter entered their tilt with Blue Ridge on Friday with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. They blew past Blue Ridge, posting a 53-6 victory. Given Gunter's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 94th, while Blue Ridge is ranked 679th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

S & S Consolidated's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Gunter, their win bumped their record up to 7-1.

S & S Consolidated was taken down by Gunter 49-0 in their previous matchup back in November of 2024. Can the Rams avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
