Softball Preview: Acorn Tigers vs. Horatio Lions
The Acorn Tigers will head out on the road to take on the Horatio Lions at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Acorn never got on the board in their matchup on Tuesday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Foreman last Friday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Gator Arkansas a 10-0 shutout.
Meanwhile, Horatio entered their tilt with Junction City with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. They were the clear victor by a 12-3 margin over the Dragons.
Acorn now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Horatio, their victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-5.
Acorn was able to grind out a solid win over Horatio when the teams last played back in April of 2023, winning 3-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Acorn since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
