Baseball Recap: Mountain Pointe Comes Up Short

Mountain Pointe fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Arizona College Prep on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Arizona College Prep Knights by a score of 7-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Pride have suffered since April 29, 2024.

Leandro Lopez made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Another player making a difference was Devin Montes, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Mountain Pointe has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season. The win (which was Arizona College Prep's fourth in a row) raised their record to 6-1.

Looking ahead, Mountain Pointe will take on Arizona College Prep at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. As for Arizona College Prep, they will be playing at home against Sunrise Mountain at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Arizona College Prep is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.6 runs per game this season.
