Baseball Recap: Malvern Prep Makes It 20 in a Row at Home

There's no place like home for Malvern Prep, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Wednesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Sussex Central Golden Knights a 1-0 shutout on Saturday. The one-run effort marked the Friars' lowest-scoring match of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Not much got past Jack Herbein, who gave up just two hits to keep Sussex Central off the board. Furthermore, Herbein didn't allow a single earned run, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in May of 2024.

At the plate, Malvern Prep saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Owen Hammond, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

Malvern Prep hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. That's the most strikeouts they've posted since back in May of 2024.
