Basketball Game Preview: Wellpinit Redskins vs. Ocosta Wildcats

The Wellpinit Redskins will head out on the road to face off against the Ocosta Wildcats at 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Ocosta took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Wellpinit, who comes in off a win.

Wellpinit not only won on Saturday, but they posted their biggest win since January 27th. They were the clear victor by a 64-42 margin over Sound Christian. The Redskins have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 matchups by 21 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Ocosta suffered their biggest defeat since January 14th on Friday. They were dealt a 69-34 loss at the hands of Almira-Coulee-Hartline. The Wildcats have been going strong on the season, but this is now their second defeat in a row.

Wellpinit will need to focus on slowing down Sonny Beard, one of several Ocosta players who made an impact when they last played. He dropped a double-double with 11 points and 14 boards. Beard is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down ten or more in each of the last six games he's played. Kayden Turner was another key player, putting up 11 points and five boards.

Wellpinit is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 14 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-6 record this season. Ocosta's loss dropped their record down to 16-8.
