Softball Recap: Yorba Linda Has No Trouble Against Crean Lutheran

Yorba Linda gave up the first runs on Tuesday, but they didn't give up any more after. They were the clear victors by a 19-9 margin over the Crean Lutheran Saints. With that victory, the Mustangs brought their scoring average up to 6.5 runs per game.

Samantha Cook made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in March. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI.

In other batting news, Madeline Jeanblanc was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one double. She is on a roll when it comes to RBI, as she's now brought in three or more in each of the last three games she's played. Grace Gomez was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three runs, two RBI, and one double.

Yorba Linda always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .559. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Yorba Linda now has a winning record of 13-12. As for Crean Lutheran, they are on a 14-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-20.
