Baseball Recap: El Monte Lions vs. Gabrielino Eagles
El Monte extended their losing streak to 13 on Friday, dropping them down to 1-13. They came up short against the Gabrielino Eagles, falling 26-3. If the Lions were looking for revenge after losing 5-1 to the Eagles when the teams met back in April of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.

On Gabrielino's side, they got a massive performance out of Robert Esparza, who went 4-for-6 with five runs, one triple, and one double. Those five runs gave Esparza a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Carlos Ruiz, who went 4-for-5 with four runs and one double.
El Monte didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 12-0 defeat against Arroyo on the 20th. As for Gabrielino, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 9-7 loss against Rosemead on the 20th.
