Softball Game Preview: Clarendon Broncos vs. Childress Bobcats

The Clarendon Broncos are taking a road trip to face off against the Childress Bobcats at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Clarendon has given up an average of 9 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.

Clarendon saw some tournament action on Saturday. They came up short against Muleshoe, falling 13-3.

Meanwhile, Childress suffered their closest loss since April 23, 2024 on Saturday. They fell just short of Burkburnett by a score of 3-1. The defeat continues a trend for the Bobcats in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now lost three in a row.

Childress saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kaleigh Ross, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-2.

Childress' loss dropped their record down to 7-6-1. As for Clarendon, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.

Clarendon came out on top in a nail-biter against Childress in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, sneaking past 6-4. Does Clarendon have another victory up their sleeve, or will Childress turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
