Baseball Game Preview: Center Point Pirates vs. Junction Eagles

The Center Point Pirates will head out to face off against the Junction Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Center Point is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.

Center Point came up short against Harper on Friday, falling 13-3.

Connor Holt made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and two runs. Holt is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season.

Meanwhile, Junction hadn't done well against Knippa recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Eagles were the clear victors by a 16-6 margin over the Crushers. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Eagles' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

Chasen Doyal and Hunter Dale did most of the damage at the plate: Doyal got on base in all four of his plate appearances with five stolen bases, four runs, and two RBI, while Dale went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, five RBI, and one run. Those five stolen bases gave Doyal a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Bode Bierschwale, who went 2-for-3 with two triples, two stolen bases, and two runs.

Junction always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Knippa only posted an OBP of .414.

Junction's record is now 2-4. As for Center Point, their loss dropped their record down to 1-4.

Center Point suffered a grim 11-5 defeat to Junction in their previous meeting back in March of 2025. Can the Pirates avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
