Basketball Recap: Discovery Christian Takes a Loss

Discovery Christian fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against Hattiesburg HomeSchool on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Forerunners by a score of 51-48. Discovery Christian has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Hattiesburg HomeSchool's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Emma Cotton, who dropped a double-double with 17 points and 11 boards. Those 17 points gave Cotton a new career-high. Madelyn Malone was another key player, putting up 23 points and eight rebounds.

Discovery Christian now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Hattiesburg HomeSchool, the victory got them back to even at 10-10.

Discovery Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Hattiesburg HomeSchool, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 44-35 win against Prentiss Christian on the 8th.
