Softball Preview: Tinley Park Titans vs. Richards Bulldogs
The Tinley Park Titans will be playing in front of their home fans against the Richards Bulldogs at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Tinley Park took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They blew past Thornton Fractional South 11-3. The high-scoring effort was just what Tinley Park needed considering they were shutout in their previous matchup.
Tinley Park got a great performance from Ella Witherow as she didn't allow a single earned run and only one hit over 4.2 innings pitched.
At the plate, Megan Piotrowski was incredible, going 2-for-2 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. The team also got some help courtesy of Natalie Gomez, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3.
Meanwhile, Richards entered their tilt with Blue Island Eisenhower with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They never let the Cardinals onto the board and left with an 18-0 victory on Wednesday. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest win Richards has managed all season.
Tinley Park pushed their record up to 15-7 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. As for Richards, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-7 record this season.
