Pieper had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5 goals) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They came within a single goal of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Boerne-Champion Chargers. The final result isn't all that surprising considering Pieper's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 78th, while Boerne-Champion are ranked 430th).

Dominic Tondre and Landon Villarreal scored both of Pieper's goals, bringing their combined season tally to eight goals.

Pieper's win bumped their record up to 7-2-3. As for Boerne-Champion, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-5 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Pieper will challenge rival Alamo Heights at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Boerne-Champion is set to square off against their familiar foe New Braunfels at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
