Softball Recap: Iroquois West Raiders vs. Milford Bearcats
Iroquois West was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took an 8-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Milford Bearcats. If the Raiders were looking for revenge after losing 8-3 to the Bearcats when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.
Kyla Dewitt put in work no matter where she played. She pitched six innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Dewitt was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
Dewitt wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Leah Honeycutt, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.
Iroquois West's record now sits at 6-12. As for Milford, their win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-8.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Iroquois West will host Watseka at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Warriors will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each match than the last. As for Milford, they will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Fisher at 4:30 p.m.
