Softball Recap: Octorara Area Now 8-2 over Last Ten Games

Octorara Area won the last time they faced Lancaster Mennonite and things went their way on Thursday too. The Braves were the clear victors by a 27-1 margin over the Blazers. The Braves might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matches by six runs or more this season.

Ali Matys was a standout: she went a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Campbell King was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one double.

Octorara Area was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .567. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Octorara Area is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.1 runs over those games. As for Lancaster Mennonite, they are on a ten-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.
