Recap: Riverwood Raiders vs. Dunwoody Wildcats
The Riverwood Raiders were the 40-33 winner over the Dunwoody Wildcats when they last played one another back in October of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. The match between the two teams wasn't particularly close, with Riverwood falling 32-18. While losing is never fun, they can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked 274th, while Dunwoody is ranked 121st).
Several Raiders players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jackson Davis, who threw for 247 yards and three touchdowns. Devyn Gipson was in the mix too, providing Riverwood with two touchdowns.
Riverwood's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 3-6. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 13.0 points per game. As for Dunwoody, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Riverwood will challenge Marist at 7:30 p.m. on November 3rd. As for Dunwoody, they will head out on the road to face off against North Atlanta at 8:00 p.m. on November 3rd.
