Basketball Recap: Bertrand Takes a Loss

If Bertrand was riding high fresh off their 48-9 takedown of Medicine Valley last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The contest between the Bertrand Vikings and the Arapahoe Warriors didn't end well, with the Bertrand Vikings falling 44-29. The Vikings haven't had much luck with the Warriors recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

Brooklyn Evans was Bertrand's leading scorer, having posted 15 points. Shelby Schoene held things down on the boards with seven rebounds.

Arapahoe found their leader in sophomore Clara Hilker, who posted eight points in addition to ten rebounds and three steals. Hilker is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as she's posted one of at least 50% in the last four games she's played. Sawyer Shafer was another key player, putting up seven points and four steals.

Bertrand's loss dropped their record down to 9-13. As for Arapahoe, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 15-9 record this season.

Bertrand has already played their next game, a 45-29 defeat against Kenesaw on the 15th. Arapahoe does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
