Basketball Recap: Sports Leadership & Management Takes a Loss

Sports Leadership & Management was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They took a hard 67-49 fall against the Gulliver Prep Raiders. Sports Leadership & Management was not able to make up for their defeat to Gulliver Prep from their previous meeting back in January of 2024.

Despite the loss, Sports Leadership & Management still got an impressive performance from Ethan Taylor, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 12 rebounds. Sports Leadership & Management is 4-2 when Taylor posts ten or more boards, but 1-6 otherwise. Jayden Vigo was another key player, putting up eight points.

Jacob Marquez continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Gulliver Prep, going 14 of 22 on his way to 33 points along with five assists and five boards. That makes it seven consecutive games in which Marquez has scored at least a third of Gulliver Prep's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Walker Allen, who posted six points and four steals.

Sports Leadership & Management's record is now 5-8. As for Gulliver Prep, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 10-6.

Sports Leadership & Management wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 69-48 loss against Miami on the 9th. As for Gulliver Prep, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 55-54 victory against Florida Christian on the 9th.
