Preview: Manchester Greyhounds vs. North Adams Green Devils
Manchester is 0-10 against North Adams since February of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Manchester Greyhounds will finish 2023 at home by hosting the North Adams Green Devils at 6:15 p.m. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Manchester has struggled recently with four defeats in a row, while North Adams will arrive with three straight wins.
Last Monday, Manchester had to suffer through a rough 62-28 loss at the hands of West Union. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Manchester in their matchups with West Union: they've now lost five in a row.
Meanwhile, North Adams beat Lynchburg-Clay 53-46 on Monday.
Manchester's loss was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 4-5. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 23.3 points per game. As for North Adams, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season.
Manchester was dealt a bruising 67-28 loss at the hands of North Adams when the teams last played back in January. The game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Manchester was down 38-18.
